A 17 year-old movie-goer who charged that a man bit her on the neck at a movie theater in Norton Shores says that she told the truth, despite the fact that police are now questioning her story. Erin Westrate earlier had claimed that a middle-aged man made several sexual comments to teen movie goers at a showing of the "Twilight-New Moon" blockbuster last weekend at the Cinema Carousel. She said that as they were leaving, the man bit her:
She also said the man followed her out into the parking lot and watched her drive away:
As a result, police began searching for the suspect. However, the man is no longer being sought, and Westrate could be in trouble, according to the Muskegon Chronicle. The newspaper reports that authorities have received a call from a witness who disputed the story. Police said after interviewing the teen, investigators concluded that much of her story was exaggerated. Authorities also told the Chronicle that they're investigating the incident as a false police report, and not an assault.
