Whirlpool released its first global, comprehensive sustainability report yesterday. The Benton Harbor company also released its first Global Reporting Initiative report. Whirlpool says the reports reflect its commitment to openly communicating with its stakeholders about its economic, social and environmental performance. The reports are released as the global consulting company Hewitt Associates and strategic human resources firm The RBL Group ranked Whirlpool among the 2009 list of Top Companies for Leaders. The local company came in 9th in North America and 15t globally.
