A Michigan-based rock group that once scored a national hit will be playing in New Buffalo next week. The Verve Pipe, who got plenty of airplay on alternative stations with "The Freshman" in the late 90s, will be playing at the school's performing arts center. New Buffalo Schools Superintendent Mark Westerburg says that the band recently released an album aimed at kids, and they're happy to put on a show for the elementary students:
Westerburg says that the performance for elementary kids will be at two PM next Tuesday:
But another show, for everyone else, will be held at seven PM that night. Westerburg says that it's five dollars to get in for adults, and three dollars for students. To get a ticket, call the New Buffalo Superintendent's office at 469-6013. Tickets are first come, first serve. Money generated from the band's performance will go to a charity, although the school hasn't yet decided which one.
