The Saint Joseph Public Schools Foundation is turning to its members, parents and alumni to bring new computers and software to area schools. Foundation board president Bill Marohn says the schools are in desperate need for computer and software upgrades.
Last year the foundation funded five high-tech Classrooms of Today. With fewer and fewer state dollars, Marohn says it’s up to private groups to maintain quality education.
Saint Joseph schools are expected to lose about $830,000 in state funding this year. Marohn says it will use most of its 2009 year-end appeal dollars to update technology in as many classrooms as possible.
