There was a fire at a Benton Township restaurant Wednesday. Benton Township Fire Department Lt. Malcolm Cowan says the fire department is still investigating. But he says it's possible there was a problem with the high resistance connector.
Cowan says the fire department had to air out the restaurant because of potentially toxic smoke.
Cowan says the public has no reason be concerned about the smoke because it dissipated. He says the Berrien County Health Department will likely be at the restaurant Thursday to decide when the restaurant can reopen.
No one was injured in the fire. The Sodus Township Fire Department also responded to the fire.
