It appears to be the act of one man, an army psychiatrist who apparently needed to be healed himself….going on a rampage and killing over a dozen people at Fort Hood, and wounding nearly 30 others, in the process. One west Michigan Congressman is issuing a cautious note, and using it to make a point. Pete Hoekstra, ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, admits that what happened yesterday, in light of recent events here and abroad, shouldn’t come as a surprise.
The Holland Congressman believes that now is the time to take action to help law enforcement prevent further and deeper tragedies.
Hoekstra is urging the Obama Administration, in the light of these developments, to move quickly to renew the provisions of the Patriot Act that expire at year’s end.
