The John and Dede Howard Trail in Saint Joseph will get new lighting soon, thanks in part to a donation accepted by the city this week. City Manager Frank Walsh tells us that on Monday, commissioners accepted a 97-thousand dollar contribution from the John and Dede Howard family to help finance the 190-thousand dollar lighting project. Currently, only the part of the trail between Pearl Street and the Lions Park entrance is lighted, and Walsh says this will expand on that:
He says the new lights will make the trail safer for pedestrians.
