The Pokagon Fund has announced its latest round of grants. The fund was set up to distribute a portion of the electronic gaming revenues from the Four Winds Casino to area community projects, and Executive Director Mary Dunbar said this week that more than 89-thousand dollars are being given out for the months of September and October. The biggest recipients include Senior Nutrition Services, which is getting a total of around 28-thosuand dollars in two grants. One is for the purchase of a food delivery van to serve the New Buffalo, Chikaming, and Three Oaks areas, and the other of to underwrite Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for seniors. Also on the list this month was a 15-thousand dollar donation to Saint Mary of the Lake for a preschool program...just under 15-thousand for Southold Dance Theater to host the Nutcracker Ballet in New Buffalo...and 65-hundred dollars for the New Buffalo Lions Club to fund the Harlem Ambassadors basketball team.
