Demolition of the old Saint Joseph Charter Township Firestation on Broadmoor begins Tuesday, October 20th. The township plans to use the spot as a parking lot, allowing access for the trucks to come into the new location from Broadmoor, and exit on Colfax. Saint Joseph Charter Township Trustee Ronald Griffin was in charge of clearing out the old building, and he says that everything possible was put to good use.
Items were also taken out by the township for use in other facilities. Officials hope the new setup will improve the traffic situation when emergency vehicles are entering the Napier and Colfax intersection. Plans to put in the asphalt for the parking lot are set for November.
