Berrien County Health Department Announces H1N1 Vaccine Clinic Schedule



The Berrien County Health Department has finalized its H1N1 vaccination clinic schedule. The community clinics will start on Saturday, October 24th, and be strategically placed in large facilities throughout the county with consideration given to parking and other services. Since the vaccine is federally purchased, there will be no charge for the shots. The sites chosen for the clinics are located in Benton Township, New Buffalo, Watervliet, Berrien Springs, Saint Joseph, and Niles. A Press release from Clinical and Community Health Services Manager Carol Klukas says that due to a temporary shortage of vaccine, the Health Department will target certain groups of at-risk patients first. They include pregnant women...those aged between six months and 24 years....individuals who live with or care for infants under six months...healthcare workers...and adults over 25 with underlying medical conditions. Once the supply of the vaccine increases, it is anticipated that everyone who wants the vaccine will be able to get it. Now here's a complete list of the H1N1 vaccine clinics:

--Saturday, October 24th: WMU Building at the Lake Michigan College Campus, Benton Harbor, 10AM - 3 PM
--Tuesday, October 27th: New Buffalo High School, New Buffalo, 3PM - 7PM
--Thursday, October 29th: St. Joseph Catholic School, Watervliet, 3PM -7PM
--Sunday, November 1st: Andrews University Gym, Berrien Springs, 12PM- 4PM
--Monday, November 2nd: First Church of God, Saint Joseph, 3PM-7PM
--Friday, November 6th: Niles High School, Niles, 3PM-7PM
