The Local Revenue Sharing Board for the Four Winds Casino will be getting a payment of over six million dollars soon. The board represents several government entities near the New Buffalo resort, and it's responsible for divvying up the revenue sharing funds and distributing them. Chairman Pete Rahm says that the upcoming payment of six-point-two million dollars is close to what the board received from the casino last time around, and the process of giving out the money should start soon:
The funds are divided between New Buffalo City and Township, as well as New Buffalo Schools, Chikaming Township, Berrien RESA, Lake Michigan College, Grand Beach, and the New Buffalo Library. Each has to use the money to offset expenses they may have incurred because of the casino, and the rest can be used at their own discretion. Rahm says that he expects the process of giving it out to local communities will go smoothly:
Rahm is also pleased with the level of cooperation the board has received from the casino:
The money represents a portion of the Four Winds slot machine revenues.
