A five-year old boy was listed in fair condition at a Kalamazoo hospital Tuesday following a car crash on Monday night in Bainbridge Township. The Berrien County Sheriffs Department says that 35 year-old Pedro Perez Garcia was drunk when he crashed his 2002 Ford Explorer into a tree off Bainbridge Road, north of Meadowbrook, around ten PM. The five-year old passenger was taken to Lakeland Hospital in Saint Joseph, and then transferred to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment of his injuries. Garcia was treated at Watervliet Hospital, and then taken to the Berrien County Jail on a charge of drunk driving causing serious injury. Neither of the vehicles occupants were wearing a seat belt.
