The second Berrien County Land Auction is Tuesday. Over 100 properties not picked up at the July auction will go before bidders at the DANK Hall in Sodus Township. Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski says there were fewer bidders at the July auction, even though it brought in over $300,000.
Witkowski says the advertising has helped. He says the land auction web site is now averaging about 400 hits. Witkowski says there's a wide variety of properties for people to check out.
Witkowski says people from all over bid on the properties. He says over 20% of the buyers are from outside Berrien County.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. with the sale following at 10 a.m. The bidding starts at $50. The highest bidder will walk away the winner, but all the properties need to be paid for in full by the end of the day. You can find out more about the properties online at http://www.berriencounty.org.
