Scott White - the Watervliet man who according to police ran over his wife Debra and killed her has been freed on $15,000 bond, according to Berrien County officials. WNDU TV is reporting he faces a preliminary felony charge of death by drunk driving, and he will be arraigned tomorrow (Wednesday Aug. 5) at 1:30 p.m. at the Berrien County Courthouse. His wife, Debra, was hit sometime before 2 a.m. Sunday on Forest Beach Road near Paw Paw Avenue in Watervliet Township. That happened a short drive from the couple’s home in Watervliet. Police aren’t saying much about what happened that night, or whether Scott has any sort of drinking history. Elite Bar, an establishment on Main Street, says Scott had been banned from going inside because of some sort of behavior issue. Family and friends, though, say Scott is a “fabulous” person. Family say what happened early Sunday morning was an accident.
