Sylvester Avenue from Hamilton Street to Shawnee Road is closed in Berrien Springs. Police Chief Milton Agay says the road is closed while contractors complete resurfacing work. Township President Bill Dustin says the road will be closed for about four weeks. He says detour signs went up Wednesday. Agay says there is limited access for those trying to go to and from the Berrien Springs Elementary, Middle and High Schools. Anyone using the Sylvester Avenue to cut through from Old US 31 to Shawnee Road should take a different route.
