Late last week the Allegan County Focused Investigation Team got the word out that they were looking for Van Buren Hutchinson, a suspect in a 1993 rape and murder case in Allegan County. They thought he was in Berrien County or the South Bend area. And they were right. The 45 year old Hutchinson was arrested in Northern Indiana and should be extradited to Michigan early this week. No word on exactly why police suspect him in the rape and murder of Jeanette Reeves of Chicago, but they apparently do, and they want to find out why he alledgedly dumped her body in the Kalamazoo River in the Allegan State Game Area 16 years ago.
