Former champions captured two of the top three places in Saturday's annual Cherry Pit Spitting Championship at the Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm in Eau Claire. Former champ "Gentleman" Joe Lassard of Ontario, Canada took third place, second place went to Jace Rowley from Utah, and this year's top spitter? None other than 14-time champion Rick "Pellet Gun" Krause from Arizona. This was the 15th win for Krause and 39th over all for the Krause family! The winning spit of just over 48 feet was well off the world record - held by Krause's son Brian who managed a whopping 93 foot spit several years ago. The event lived up to its 'international' billing by attracting visitors from as far away as China, Spain and Germany.
