A man accused of spitting into the sandwich of a Berrien County sheriffs deputy at the Berrien Springs McDonald's restaurant has pleaded no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge related to food tampering. 32 year-old Jacob Dean-Lovett Skipworth was arrested this month on a felony charge of distributing adulterated food, but as part of a plea deal, he'll serve 60 days in jail for the reduced charge. According to the Herald Palladium, Skipworth may also face parole violation charges in Indiana, where he'd previously served 14 years for a home invasion in which an elderly couple was injured. The sheriffs deputy had to undergo a number of medical tests following the June third incident in which Skipworth allegedly spit into the McMuffin that he'd bought from the drive-thru.
