Two South Bend men are facing charges for shooting an 80 year-old Berrien County resident, and then running up charges on his credit cards. Michigan State Police Lieutenant Michael Brown says that the two suspects approached the victim on Saturday as he was working on his yard in Bertrand Township, claiming they had car trouble. They then shot him, and made off with his wallet:
Brown says that the two men purchased items like TVs and cigarettes with the man's credit cards. They're being held in Indiana while Berrien County prosecutors prepare charges, and they could be extradited back to Michigan this week. The victim is expected to recover.
