The Nuclear Regulatory Commission this week held a presentation on its latest safety assessment of Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman. The NRC keeps a staff member present at the plant at all times with the authority to access any area, and spokesperson Viktoria Mitlyng says that the safety evaluation looks at whether further supervision is necessary. She says Cook met all safety objectives, and no additional oversight there has been recommended.
The NRC's 2008 safety assessment of Cook was presented to the public at a forum at the Saint Joe library this week.
