Police arrested a Bangor man over the weekend for using counterfeit bills at area garage sales. The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department arrested the 47-year-old Van Buren County man after a garage sale witness and K-9 unit led police to the suspect's car, a 1998 Dodge pickup. Police found about $300 in cash and several garage sale items in the car. Police then found more counterfeit money after searching the suspect's home in the 53000 block of Michigan 47. Police say a 35-year-old Bangor man is the second unidentified suspect in the case. The U.S. Secret Service and Paw Paw and Bangor Police Departments are also investigating.
