Niles Police Arrest 17 Suspected Drug Dealers

The Niles City Police Department arrested 17 alleged drug dealers Wednesday night as part of a three month investigation called Operation Tulip. Captain Jim Millin says the goal of Operation Tulip was to clean up local streets before the summer. Police first issued a search warrant in the 10 block of South 7th Street. There police arrested one suspect and found both cocaine and ectsasy. From there, Millin says police issued 16 more arrests warrants. Millin says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely.

Millin says during the course of the three-month investigation police seized large amounts of cocaine, heroin and ecstasy. Those arrested range in age from 17 to 46-years-old.
