Conybeare Law Office has announced that it's merging with the Saint Joseph law firm, Smit and Kragt. The company said in a press release that the move "will create a full service personal injury law practice for Southwest Michigan".
Barry Conybeare, Managing Shareholder, says that Smit & Kragt has "a long history of expertise in handling worker’s compensation and Social Security disability claims, which complements the practice areas of (his own) office in auto collisions, medical malpractice, product liability and other areas" involving injury. The planned merger is the culmination of several years in which the two firms have maintained a close working relationship, regularly referring clients to one another. Barry Conybeare adds that he "believes Smit & Kragt's experience representing worker's compensation and Social Security clients is a natural fit with (Conybeare's) history of helping injured people and their families throughout Southwest Michigan." The merged firm will operate in the Conybeare Law Office building, located in downtown Saint Joe.
