Michigan's Near Term Future


A team of economists from the University of Michigan have two views of Michigan’s near term future…bad, and worse…They say unemployment will go to double digits in Michigan, and the economy will be stuck in reverse through 2010, and that’s if the Auto Industry avoids bankruptcy, and the U.S. Government approves a second stimulus package next year. If that doesn’t happen, it will be even worse.

They predict the state will lose another 108-thousand jobs next year, half of them in the auto industry.
