SWM Bakery Continues Election Year Tradition




A Southwest Michigan bakery is continuing its tradition of marking presidential elections this month by offering candidate-themed cookies. Ron Dannenberg, of the Golden Brown Bakery in South Haven, says they've been selling sugar cookies with the big candidates' names on them since the Ford-Carter Race. Usually, the Republican cookie outsells the Democrat...but not this year:

They're simple sugar cookies, with the candidates' names written on them in frosting -- the Democrat in blue, and the Republican in red. Golden Brown also has a bakery in downtown Saint Joe.
