The developers of Harbor Shores have announced that they are changing their construction schedule in Jean Klock Park as they wait for a hearing in federal court. On Wednesday, a judge scheduled a hearing for October second to consider a group of Harbor Shores opponents' latest request for a halt to all construction, which was filed Monday when crews began work on removing some trees for golf course related improvements. The plaintiffs claim that exceeds the terms of the Harbor Shores lease agreement...and Cornerstone Alliance President Wendy Dant Chesser says that until the hearing, the developers will voluntarily stop work in order to avoid what she called "further delay tactics". Until the hearing, Harbor Shores will proceed with plans for work on the observation tower and bathhouse, and construction of the lakeside boulevard -- the area in dispute -- will be postponed until October third. The updated construction schedule has been shared with Benton Harbor City Manager Richard Marsh, who says that he's working with all parties to bring a speedy resolution to the lawsuit.
