Democratic Congressional candidate Don Cooney added to the chorus of Great Lakes talk this week by releasing his own comprehensive policy on lakes protection. While he praised passage of the Great Lakes Compact, he said that the danger of other states trying to get at Great Lakes water will remain and intensify as global warming gets worse, and his long-term solution lies in energy reform:
Cooney also calls for the Great Lakes drilling ban to be more vigilantly upheld, and more money to maintain healthy beaches.
