About 45 volunteers from Andrews University left for Louisiana on Thursday to help with clean-up and relief efforts from Hurricane Gustav. The group is made up of both students and staff, and they're expected to help with supply distribution and clean-up as managed by a national Seventh Day Adventist organization. While in Hammond, Louisiana, the volunteers will stay in a primitive lodging center without electricity while they hand out supplies, and offer any other kind of support they can to people affected by the hurricane. They're expected to be back next week.
