This Labor Day Weekend, the Michigan Department of Transportation will give drivers a break:
MDOT's Julie Hurley says that suspending major road projects during holidays is something MDOT's been doing for the past few years to encourage more tourism, and prevent traffic nightmares. However, she says there will still be a few projects that can't just be shut down. Some of them locally include I-94 between mile markers four and six in Berrien County, where the road will be reduced to two lanes...and US 12 at the Galien River, where traffic will alternate in one lane. You can check MDOT's website at www.michian.gov/drive for a complete list of road projects.
