Kalamazoo City Commissioner Don Cooney hopes a forum Tuesday will highlight one of the central issues of his campaign for the 6th Congressional District house seat. Cooney says he invited Jared Bernstein, one of Senator Barack Obama's financial advisors, to talk about the economy under the Bush administration and his suggestions for the future.Cooney says Bernstein understands how working people fit in the economy.
Bernstein is a senior economist for the Economic Policy Institute in Washington. The forum is the second in a four-part series hosted by the Cooney for Congress campaign. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Public Library.
