The Berrien County Sheriffs Department says that a Saint Joseph Township man was arrested Tuesday for stealing twelve-thousand dollars worth of brass bars from his Weesaw Township employer. Police were called to Vicker's Engineering on Glendora Road when the bars were noticed missing...and during their investigation, deputies were told that an employee, 34 year-old David Michael Smith, had been seen acting suspiciously earlier in the day. After interviewing him, officers were able to recover the stolen property -- weighing over three-thousand pounds -- from a home in Coloma Township. Smith has been charged with felony embezzlement, and is being held in the Berrien County Jail. Meanwhile, a second suspect could be facing charges for receiving the stolen property.
