There are developments in the continuing saga of Deer Forest in Coloma. Police, Berrien County Animal Control and the owner of the property were at Deer Forest Thursday afternoon, along with a man who donated alligators to the park. He arrived to take them back. According to Animal Control, it's believed Deer Park operator Jon Stolarz has skipped town and disappeared. WSBT-TV reports the USDA contacted Animal Control on Wednesday over concerns for the welfare of the animals that were still at Deer Forest. Police also found two dogs in crates in Stolarz' home, with no food and no water. He is wanted in Illinois in connection with an animal abuse case there. Stolarz has sold some of the animals, which have found a new home at Blessings Animal Farm in Coloma.
