Police in Cass County, Illinois have an active arrest warrant for the man running Deer Forest. Jon Stolarz was to pay $300 in restitution in an animal cruelty case or appear in court by August 6, he never paid or made an appearance. According to a Sunday post on a Facebook page which supports Deer Forest "some of the animals have been sold, we hope and pray they found great new homes." It also says things need to turn around financially or the park could close its doors by next month. It's unlikely Stolarz will be extradited, for the offence doesn't warrant that. Currently two USDA investigations target management of Deer Forest. The first involves the park's owner. It includes allegations of failure to provide proper veterinary care, improper disposal of dead animals and improper deer shelter. The second involves Stolarz.
