Muhammad: A House Divided Against Itself Can Not Stand



Benton Harbor City Commissioner and Mayoral Candidate Marcus Muhammad was out front of the Berrien County Courthouse Monday holding a press conference to address a recent court ruling and Berrien County's decision to appeal it. With other city leaders at his side, Muhammad says he and supporters will continue to follow Judge John Dewane’s decision to allow a mayoral recall election be placed on the November 4 ballot.

Last week County Commissioners allocated funds for Clerk Sharon Tyler to appeal Dewane's ruling. Muhammad calls that unprecedented.

With the County Courthouse as a back drop, Muhammad spoke Monday at a press conference which was called to discuss democracy, the democratic process, and First Amendment rights. Like the right to petition the government for its grievances. The County Board allocated up to $20,000 for the appeal. Muhammad says residents across the county should question that decision.
