United Way Of Southwest Michigan Sets 2014 Fundraising Goal

The United Way of Southwest Michigan is working to raise $3.6 million in its 2014 campaign. The goal is its highest ever according to chairperson Lynanne Kunkel, who says the need is there throughout the community.

The goal for the year is up 5% from last year when the United Way served nearly 67,000 people in Berrien and Cass counties through 50 different programs.

Through partnerships, the total value of United Way services in the two counties in 2013 was over $6.1 million. Nine businesses have agreed to be Pacesetters. Those are American Electric Power's DC Cook Plant, Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital, Honor Credit Union, Horizon Bank, Kemner-Iott Agency, J.C. Penney, Meijer in Benton Harbor and Stevensville, Mid-West Family Broadcasting, Tyler Automotive, United Way of Southwest Michigan and Walsworth Publishing. If you want to get involved and donate and don't work for a company partnering with the United Way, you can do so by contacting them through their website at or through their Facebook page at
