The pilot of a small plane that went down Monday afternoon in rural Allegan County is dead, according to Michigan State Police. Casco Township farmers in the area between South Haven and Saugatuck, saw a small ultralight plane go down just after 12:15 p.m. Parts of a plane were found in a wooded area after a police helicopter was requested to help in the search. A 45-year old Hastings area man died in his plane. He had been flying from Lansing, Illinois, and it appears he may have been headed toward Hastings.
