A Free Taste Of Toastmasters

When it comes to public speaking comedian Jerry Seinfeld once joked most people would rather be the one dead than giving the eulagy at a funeral. To overcome the fear of talking in front of others, or simply improve your current speaking ability Toastmasters, an area club devoted to public speaking is hosting an open house.

Vice President of Membership Karen Coffey says meetings are usually broken into three parts: prepared speeches, table topics, and evaluations.

Vice President of Club Education Owen Conner says it's all about building confidence.

Conner is also the Table-Topics-Master. He picks random topics or questions for members to speak on at meetings. After visiting the open house Coffey hopes attendees walk away with a greater sense of self confidence and honesty in their thoughts and feelings. A "taste" of Toastmasters will happen Tuesday at the Lincoln Township Library. The free open house begins at 6:45 p.m. For more information visit
