R-TAB Reminds Community Of Board's Role

The chairman of the Benton Harbor Receivership Transition Advisory Board is reminding the public of the board's role within the city. Last week a few Benton Harbor residents addressed the state appointed board regarding personal issues and concerns. Chairman Cary Vaughn calls the R-TAB reactionary.

Meaning, take your personal concerns to City Hall.

Vaughn says the R-TAB cannot, and will not initiate an act without the commission taking action first. Vaughn says being proactive is "outside the board's scope of authority." The R-TAB meets the third Wednesday of each month in City Hall.
