The brutal winter is still having an impact on existing home sales in the area. The Southwestern Michigan Association of Realtors reports for the first six months of the year, the numbers are about a month behind 2013. However, June sales were up by 16% over May and higher by 6% from a year ago. For the month, 312 homes sold in Berrien County along with the western portions of Cass and Van Buren counties. Average and median selling prices were nearly even with those recorded in May, with the average price at $200,977 and the median price - at which half of the homes were above and half were below - came in at $145,750.
