Proos, Schuette Warning Of Malware Threats To Phones, Tablets

With the rise of smartphones and tablet computers also comes the rise in threats from outsiders trying to hack in. Just because they're not a traditional computer, Senator John Proos warns that doesn't mean those electronic devices are immune from spyware and malware threats.

Schuette has written a consumer alert on the topic called "Malware: What is it and How to Avoid It," and it can be found in the "Consumer Protection" section of his website at Proos says older people seem to be particularly vulnerable to the cyber attacks.

One of the biggest tips is do not open attachments in an email from a sender you don't recognize, whether you receive the email on an iPhone, a Droid, a tablet, or a traditional computer.
