One of the more popular spots for kids in St. Joseph will be out of commission for up to two weeks starting Wednesday. The city is closing down the Whirlpool Compass Fountain to make repairs, and staff members discoverd the caulk had worn out and was allowing water to seep into the ground. The water in the fountain is continuously reused and recycled, and it was found to be leaking a few weeks ago. The pad will be re-caulked, and that will cause the fountain to be closed for at least one, and as long as two, weeks. Updates will be posted on the city of St. Joseph's website.
