High School Students Get Opportunity To Experience Being State Troopers

Three Southwest Michigan High School students have experienced what it takes to become Michigan State Police troopers. The 38th annual American Legion Student Trooper Program was held last week in Lansing. Zachary Davis of Dowagiac, Emily Hager of Benton Harbor, and Cade Young of Galien were among the participants. In order to attend the week-long program, each student is responsible for securing their own sponsorship from one of the American Legion offices located throughout the state. Scholarships are available through the program. Hager from Benton Harbor was awarded the Outstanding Student scholarship. Its value ranges from $500 to $1,000.
