State Representative Al Pscholka announced Wednesday over $640,000 in state funds has been secured for road repairs along M-63. The money will help improve and repair the highway from M-139 to I-94. Pscholka says the "project is a good first step in our area to start correcting almost a decade of neglect and disrepair in our roads." The announcement came as part of a statewide roll out of projects that have been determined by the Michigan Department of Transportation and the state Legislature. Although the state Legislature and governor have allocated almost $870-million to improve roads and bridges since fiscal year 2012, the state spent zero general fund dollars on roads during fiscal years 2003-11.
