The city of South Haven expects free Wi-Fi service to be available in designated areas downtown by the end of next month. The city has hired Secant Technologies to design the system, and Bloomingdale Communications will be the Internet service provider. They will deliver new fiber circuits and reconfigure the existing circuits to the sites. Right now, the wait is for new equipment which is expected to arrive in mid-July. The Downtown Development Authority is paying just under $117,000 for the project, while the city's marina fund will pay the other 45%, equal to a little over $95,000.
