A lesson on picking your battle could be about to be learned by some in the city of St. Joseph. It's been revealed that if the city does not give the go-ahead to developers to build a CVS Pharmacy on land now occupied by Florin Funeral Home at Niles and Napier, a gas station will be built. A gas station would not require any rezoning, or any public hearings, meaning neighbors would not have much of an opportunity to stop it. Those who live near Florin have been fighting developers tooth-and-nail since March to prevent a CVS, so instead, they might get a new gas station as a neighbor. John Florin tells WSJM's Pat Moody that they are indeed leaving that site to build a new facility in Lincoln Township on the site of the old St. Joseph Auto Drive-In Theater at Red Arrow Highway and Glenlord.
