St. Joseph Planning Commission To Take Up CVS Proposal June 26

The proposed CVS pharmacy in the city of St. Joseph is back on the agenda for the city's Planning Commission in two weeks. A public hearing is scheduled for a special meeting on Thursday, June 26 at 4:30 pm at City Hall. Developers have been tweaking their original proposal ever since first going before the Planning Commission on March 6 and facing a wall of opposition from neighboring homeowners. No vote has happened as yet. The Planning Commission had to pull a public hearing on the CVS off its agenda earlier this month because the city hadn't sent out notices to all property owners within 300 yards of the location. Florin Funeral Home is planning to close their location at Niles and Napier and sell the land, and that's where the proposed CVS would be built if approved. The original plan was to have the store open by November, which is a longshot at best now given the months of delays.
