Squirrel Blamed For Power Outage



Human error may have knocked out power in Benton Township Monday, but a squirrel is to blame for about 600 customers being powerless in the Coloma area Tuesday. Erica Putt with Indiana Michigan Power says the animal got into some of their equipment at a substation.

A dump truck was driven into a utility power Monday afternoon in Benton Township which knocked down a transmission line. For about three hours there roughly 1,800 customers were without power.
