Crews Find Ice, Snow Under Sand At Silver Beach County Park

As the weather heats up, the work continues to get Silver Beach County Park ready for the summer. Berrien County Parks Director Brian Bailey says they're nearly done putting the beach back together from all the blown sand from the winter.

Bailey says something surprising was found last week.

He says May 13th was the latest he's ever seen snow and ice at Silver Beach. Bailey adds deer tracks were also seen in the sand for the first time in his career with the county. He says if you want to rent out Shadowland Pavilion, you're looking at sometime in 2015.

Bailey adds they're in the process of hiring lifeguards for Silver Beach this summer. Anyone interested should call his office at the Berrien County Administration Center in St. Joseph at 269-983-7111.
