Next Fiscal Year's Budget Approved In St. Joseph

The next fiscal year's budget is now on the books in the city of St. Joseph. City commissioners approved the plan Monday night with an expected surplus at the end of this fiscal year on June 30 of $465,000. City Manager Richard Lewis notes that's higher than what was anticipated.

The full details of the budget are available to review at both City Hall and the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library. The next fiscal year's budget does not show a surplus at the end, and Lewis says that's because he's trying to more accurately reflect the income and expenditures of the city government. The budget passed unanimously.
