Four school districts in Berrien County are celebrating the passage of millage renewals and a bond proposal. Watervliet schools went before voters with hat in hand for $23 million to improve security and upgrade technology, and that passed 411-375. St. Joseph Public Schools voters overwhelmingly backed the renewal of the sinking fund and the non-homestead millages. Voters in the Buchanan Community Schools gave their approval for a millage renewal by a solid 455-174 vote. Administrators in the Lakeshore Public Schools may have been holding their breath until the last votes were counted Tuesday night. Their building site and sinking fund millage renewal request squeaked by with just a handful of votes to spare, 1452-1409.
